Weekends........ They are never long enough are they? I always have great intentions for them too. Like I am going to get in a 2 hour workout both Saturday and Sunday or I am going to get all my laundry done, or take back wedding gifts that have been sitting in the pink room since before the wedding( our pretty girly guest room, that will someday be our nursery! NOT ANY TIME SOON! Calm down Luke! ), organize drawers and closets, paint the blue room and our cabinets in our bathroom, get new doors for every room in our house, finish decorating our bedroom, purchase pieces of furniture that we still need for the house, etc.
But instead this weekend, Saturday I got my eyelashes and eyebrows done, that took 1 hour. After that I did nothing but run to Hobby Lobby and Hemispheres bc my husband was making fun of my eyebrows so I had to get out!( Which a little side-note,I am not really sure why I keep getting my eyebrows dyed. You would think I would have learned my lesson after like the 20th time I have gotten them done and end up looking like Groucho Marks (spelling?). I mean I come home with caterpillars on my head. They don't turn into butterflies by the way!Isn't the definition of insanity performing the same act over and over and expecting different results? Love that when I saw my Dad this morning that's the first thing he mentioned, he couldn't grasp why I have blonde hair and black brows.) ANYWAYS- We ran up to the Highlands to grab a bite at like 9:00. Thats how long it took me after that 1:30 appt to get ready and get out the door. By the way, we were not dressed badly but not looking the cutest. We drive past Splittsville, and see that they have a live band on the patio and of course they are playing Skynard, which sucks Lucas in! So we park and decide we will just get an appetizer and listen to music. We go up to the door and this big black bouncer guy is standing outside. I mean he is like a hardcore bouncer you see in the movies, like 300 lbs with an ear piece that connects him to someone inside. We walk up, I am in my staple, capris and a black shirt, pink flip flops- Lucas is in cute plaid shorts a polo and flip flops, oh and he has on a hat. (Shocking!) The guy takes one look at us and says " Are you two familiar with our dresscode?" Which was kind of like a "Here's your sign moment" BC NO we aren't if you are asking us. If we were familiar with it then we would be dressed appropriately and the question would not be asked. Anyways, he points to a large sign next to him. There is a long list that basically we were in violation of everything. Sorry I didnt have on my coach shoes, hat, purse and jacket like the other girls around me! The list was ridiculous like, no capris, no flip flops, no hats, you can't have highlights, if you have green eyes turn around, no hoodies, only Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren, if your name starts with a "J" or "L" back the eff up. You get the point. SO anyways we left. I mean I know capris and bowling shoes would not be my best look bc I have cankles, but who was he to judge. IT'S A BOWLING ALLEY! I would think the dress code would be "white trash, bud heavy and pack of Marlboros" I was a little disappointed to say the least. We ended up eating at BJ's and going home and listening to Skynard on our Ipod speakers on OUR patio! We showed them!
Sunday again good intentions, instead ended up watching Benjamin Button again, can't get enough of Brad P on that motorcycle. That is some good acting on his part! And then watched half of Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Classic! So basically nothing was accomplished.
Also Saturday I did run up to "Hot Nail may I help u", and got a pedicure. I somehow managed to match my flip flops exactly with the color I choose. Bad thing is I don't really even like the color. Sometimes I really wonder about myself and the choices I make.
It was Mother's day though and I do want to say a few things. The Lady is the most beautiful mother anyone could ever have. Inside and Out. It was so great to get to spend some time with her and the rest of the family. My mom is a friend and a mother which is a great combination. I am finding as I grow older that I am totally turning into her, which may or may not be great for the marriage! JK.
And I got to see Calio Iglesias, who by the way had on his cutest outfit yet! He looked like a little golfer. I will post a pic later!
Also, my family put so much pressure on me. They went on and on about how funny my blogs are. Though I love the compliments, I am only one woman and can't possible always be everything to everyone. I feel like I am going to disappoint! Sorry Ya'll! I have kind of had bloggers block!
LOVE :)
I so wish you would spell check!!!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Dad
P.S. Sorry about the eyebrow comment.
I don't know what I spelled wrong? I checked it like 400 times. I will start spell checking. And the comment didn't hurt my feelings! I looked like an idiot!
